Our structural adhesives are all SABS approved and batched tested.

Structural adhesives

PHENOL RESORCINOL RESIN
– TTT 112

This system complies with SABS 1349 class 1 as a structural gap-filling adhesive, and is a fully waterproof adhesive.  Each batch is tested by the South African Bureau of Standards for compliance with this specification.  Having good gap-filling properties this adhesive is ideal for use in boat construction and production of laminated beams

PHENOL RESORCINOL FORMALDEHYDE RESIN
- FJ HONEYMOON
In the Finger Joint Honeymoon system of finger jointing, use is made of an accelerator to produce much faster bond strength development than is attainable with conventional adhesives.  In principle a conventional resin is applied to one profile of the finger joint and an accelerator to the other.  When the faces are mated a rapid reaction takes place that produces finger joints capable of being handled and machined within one hour of application.  While this system therefore offers significant advantages in production of finger joints, it is important that several factors be clearly understood in order to obtain the best possible results

MELAMINE FORMALDEHYDE RESIN
– SI 300
In the MELAMINE Honeymoon system of finger jointing, use is made of a hardener/accelerator to produce much faster bond strength development than is attainable with conventional adhesives.  In principle a conventional resin is applied to one profile of the finger joint and an accelerator to the other.  When the faces are mated a rapid reaction takes place that produces finger joints capable of being handled and machined within one hour of application.  While this system offers significant advantages in production of finger joints, it is important that several factors be clearly understood in order to obtain the best possible results.

Non-structural

Cascamite - SYNTHETIC RESIN GLUE -

For wood gluing and the gluing of decorative plastic laminates to wood. A powder and water mix.

IQU 130 D2- is a Polyvinyl Acetate emulsion adhesive.  It is a high quality product producing reliable performance. Designed mainly for use on hardwoods and will also produce excellent results on soft woods and various composition boards.  This product should be used where quality of the finished product is the major consideration.  Dried adhesive will produce a clear glue line.

IQV 160 D3 - is a water resistant one-part PVA wood adhesive which satisfies the requirements for water resistance as laid down in DIN specification 68603, service category D3.The dried film of FAL 160 has very low water uptake upon immersion in water and does not re-emulsify.

INKUNITE 385 - is typically used as an adhesive in the manufacture of composite wood products such as plywood and chipboard. UF resin is usually diluted before application to optimize usage. Acid salts and other hardeners may be added to ensure faster curing.
Used extensively for wood veneering, and veneer upgrading. -

P600 Pu adhesive - is a waterproof 1 part Pu based adhesive. The quick cure time and the expanding features allows for excellent bonds in woodwork and lamination.   APPLICATIONS P600 is ideally suited as a bonding agent for the adhesion of the polyurethane foam, polystyrene or rubber to fabrics, melamine, chromadek and other facings.

PU88 is a solvent free, moisture curing polyurethane adhesive. It reacts with moisture in the substrate and humidity to form a hard, non-brittle, inert and strong adhesive joint. PU88(1) is to be used in close-contact, freshly prepared wood surfaces. The bond is strong enough for structural applications.

PU22 is a solvent free urethane prepolymer terminated with isocyanate groups, which allows excellent adhesion to various wood substrates. The product is a fast curing, high performance adhesive, which cures by reaction with moisture (contained in the wood and the atmosphere). Although PU22 will yellow on aging, the material is water and weatherproof.

2 part PU epoxy system - this product is used mainly in the floor trade but can used in many other applications. Once mixed the product expands by 5 % and cures to a rock a hard finish
